Jagorometer Analysis

Overall government is making a lot of promises in the industrial sector from drafting the                                                                                       Competition Act to break the syndicate of businessmen to giving new laws for protecting                                                                                     consumer rights and tap more aid to use PPP. So far the government made the following                                                                                   progress on their election promises:

  • During the first week of February the government had started with the promise of creating a                                                                     database of unemployed member of every family but there is still no progress on that.
  • To reduce corruption the government declared that they are ready to automation of its all                                                                         institutes but still no step is taken on that regard.
  • Yet no consultancy network been developed by the government to attract NRB investment
  • During the last week of May the government has taken the step to create one-stop-service                                                                         for private investment in the tourism sector
  • A lot of promises has been made for the development of Jute industry and government put                                                                           a ban on the export of raw jute until August to ensure a smooth supply of natural fiber to                                                                           local mills
  • During the month of June the government has promised to set a special economic zone                                                                               with special privilege for women entrepreneurs
